Word of the Day

Wonders

Psalm 40, Morning Prayer for Friday, January 30
The koru (Māori for "loop") of a silver fern.

The koru (Māori for “loop”) of a silver fern.

We often think of God’s wonders as being huge, large and impressive–like the grand vista of time and space.  We also tend to zip on by thousands of wonders every day, often not stopping to notice the beauty, precision, and perfection of God’s work right at our feet.  Today, look with fresh eyes and the small wonders all around you.  If in these tiny wonders lie God’s handiwork, how wonderful are you who are created in the very image and likeness of God?  What are those wonders you have been given by God to share with the world?  How will you acknowledge and give thanks to God that you have been so wonderfully made?
