The liturgies were lovely. We had four of them on Christmas Eve, one on Christmas Day and yesterday we celebrated the season with Christmas Lessons and Carols. Thanks to the Flower Guild the church, as it always does but especially so on Christmas and Easter, looked magnificent. Thanks to the choir the joy of the birth of Christ resounded from the Sanctuary throughout the Nave. It was all wonderful, and holy, our praise of God.
And the services were every bit as lovely. The annual Christmas Day dinner. The Grate Patrol volunteers distributing food to the homeless on a rainy Christmas night and handing out Christmas cards made by our children the last few week in Children’s Chapel, along with candy canes and cookies! Our Crossroads housing ministry leaders making a Christmas visit and bringing cards and blessings to our Crossroads apartment guests! The Lessons and Carols sung with resounding joy yesterday afternoon with residents at the Washington Home! It was all wonderful, and holy, our praise of God.
As the Quakers are fond of saying, when the prayers end the service begins… Thanks to everyone who made Christmas at St. Alban’s both and!
Happy Monday,
Jim+
